I am a UX Designer and a Front-End Developer. I've been designing and developing web apps since 2000. In the beginning years of my career, I started with typical marketing and branding. This included designing logos, creating websites in both Flash and HTML and branding materials such as CD-Roms and Print packages. As the web grew, my experience and repertoire grew as well. When needed, I transitioned to working with databases and server-side languagues such as ColdFusion and C#.net. Now with over 14 years of experience, I've done everything from graphic design for branding materials to full application design and development. I've been blessed with the opporunity to work with many Fortune 500 companies as well as "Mom & Pop" shops.
Although I am comfortable with the server-side and SQL, my niche lies in creating the front-end experience for the user. I use whatever tools are at my disposal. Sometimes that's plain-jane HTML5 and CSS3 with touches of non-obtrusive Javascript (often jQuery for DOM manipulation). Sometimes that's creating a true Reponsive SPA experience using tools like Bootstrap, Foundation, AngularJS and Sass.
I'm always interested in learning more. Here are a few things I love learning more about and experimenting with when I have time (in no particular order):
With my beautiful and supportive wife and two talented daughters, I live in a not-so-quiet, but often friendly suburb just north of Dallas.
I work in Dallas currently as a Front-End Software Engineer for Dealer.com who was recently acquired by Dealer Track.
In my spare time, I enjoy long walks on the... oh, wait, I live in North Texas. Um... well I do play guitar and drums, tinker with robotics, and I can also probably pwn you like nobody's business in COD or Battlefield.
Modern Ad-Server company "AdShuffle" delivers real-time reporting and analytics for their clients world-wide. During my time at AdShuffle (H.D. Vest), I created many sales tools including Flash demos, screen savers for advertising conferences, as well as their marketing website. My main role however, was to develop the front-end of their client-facing admin tool.
